Messages from the Bible

“There’s Always a Need”

Posted by aulden in Series, Living, Sunday Morning

Some things in life need to be done only once, but others we must do again and again.   This passage in Mark 6:30-44 is one that we're familiar with (Jesus feeding the 5000), and when we carefully observe the passage, we see the big picture of several things for which there is always a need for us to engage.

“Some People”

We all know some people who just miss the most obvious things, even things of spiritual significance.  This sermon from Mark 6:14-29 shows us some things that cause some people to miss Jesus, and we'll also learn what we as followers of Jesus should be doing to help them.

“In Order to Lead”

In order to lead, we need to be prepared to lead.  As we look at Jesus' interactions with His disciples in Mark 6:6-13, we find some things we need to learn so that we can lead in a way that honors our Savior.

“Bound and Determined”

Have you ever met someone who's bound and determined to do something?  In this sermon from Mark 6, we find Jesus bound and determined to do what He knew He needed to do in spite of what people thought about Him.

“Not What We Expect”

Sometimes, life is not what we expect it to be (even though we have planned and prepared for what we desire).  During those desperate times, we need to get to the point where we understand that God is drawing us to Himself, and He'll always answer prayer according to His will.  This sermon from Mark 5:21-43 shows us examples from the lives of two people in Scripture who gave in to Jesus.

“Giving Mercy”

Posted by aulden in Series, Living, Sunday Morning

"Mercy" is something we exclaim, sing about, and desire for ourselves.  But how often do we give mercy to others?  Jesus demonstrated giving mercy to a man who was very much in need of it.  This sermon is based on Mark 5:1-20.

“Sometimes…”

Sometimes, we are asked to do things that we think are too big for us, but we have to see that God works in us through difficult requests.  This message is from Mark 4:35-41.

“Going with the Gospel”

Posted by aulden in Series, Living, Sunday Morning

Every follower of Jesus has been issued the command to "go" with the Gospel.  Mark 4:1-20 records another example of how Jesus went with the Gospel, and from Him, we can learn how to "go" as well.

“When you’re on mission for God…”

Posted by aulden in Series, Living, Sunday Morning

Jesus' life is one that helps us to know how to live our lives "on mission" for Him.  This sermon examines Mark 3:20-35, and from it we learn two big points about what we're supposed to be doing.

“My Mission”

Every follower of Jesus has a mission in life, and as we fulfill that mission we find significance and everything else we need.
